Lisa
Operations Manager
“I have been involved in the Animal Rescue world for the past decade, joining the Maggie's Rescue team as Operations Manager in 2022. I am super passionate about animal advocacy and improving the lives of our beloved companion animals. I share my life with a gang of fun loving rescue dogs, a sassy rescue cat as well as non-stop foster friends
I spend my spare time indulging in snacks, watching real housewives and hiking with my happy hounds.“
-
Laura
Operations Coordinator
“I have always been drawn to animals so it's no wonder I made it my career. After 15 years as a zookeeper at Taronga Zoo, I hung up my rake in 2021 and said goodbye to my koalas. Missing that animal connection, I started fostering for Maggie's with a special needs cat, Fluffy who was deaf and epileptic. My love of fostering kittens has turned her house into a makeshift cattery and you will find foster cats running in every corner of my house. Caring for the ones that are struggling and seeing them thrive is one of the best feelings along with finding wonderful homes for all our cats in care.
I joined the Maggie's team in 2021 as a cat coordinator and has found herself taking on more as the work became more rewarding than my other jobs. In 2023, I jumped at the opportunity to become a part of the team as operations coordinator”

Erin
Cat Coordinator
“Through fostering, I have the privilege of witnessing the remarkable transformation of each kitten, from scared and vulnerable to confident and loving companions. Each cat or kitten who enters my home brings a unique story, filled with resilience and hope. Maggie's Rescue's unwavering commitment to saving and improving the lives of these furry souls is what draws me to their cause. Fostering lead to a new role as a cat coordinator, where I get to volunteer alongside this exceptional team and be part of a larger movement dedicated to making a difference in the lives of animals, one whisker at a time.
In my spare time, I love indulging in my guilty pleasure - Law & Order SVU, happily surrendering to my caffeine obsession and dog walking for my neighbours.”
-
Tim
Sponsors & Partnerships Coordinator
“I'm a brand strategist, creative director, marketing specialist and teacher with more than twenty years experience working with global brands and some of Australia’s best design colleges.
My true passion however, is dogs (all dogs, with a particular fondness for big boofheads). When I'm not solving creative problems, you're likely to find me rolling around on the ground with a pack of pooches. In addition to my own dogs, my love of mutts has led me to foster several dogs - most recently with Maggie's Rescue. I'm thrilled to have come on board to bring my love of dogs and creative experience to the Maggie's communications team.”

Tara Dabrowski
Events Coordinator
“I’ve been volunteering with animal rescues over the past few years, as both a foster carer and now as an events coordinator.
It was incredible to watch my first foster kitten Willow (pictured) grow to be a confident and purry cat, and I’ve been fostering as much I can ever since. Wanting to help out more, I became the Events Coordinator for Maggie’s, which is always so much fun and a very rewarding experience. I love being able to apply my passion for animals to leading wholesome fundraising events.”

Philippa
Social Media
After deciding that we wanted a third dog but not just now I came on board as a foster carer in 2022…..we adopted Jack within a month. After seeing my foster content spamming for that month the Maggie’s team co-opted me to lend a hand on their socials. I’m still open for fostering toy breeds but most of my time is dedicated to promoting adoptions and growing our foster base. In my spare time (not scrolling for hilarious audio to use in reels) I hang out with a ridiculous amount of houseplants, my two Pomeranians and of course Mr Jack Sprat the foster fail.
Currently I work in governance at the University of Sydney, I promise you it’s as dry as it sounds so volunteering my spare time for more creative work is absolutely my sanity check. If you see some really dorky jokes on our socials, I’m most likely to blame (pun based humour is my poetry).”
-
Susannah
Cat Coordinator
“I started fostering cats for Maggie's in 2018, lasting 5 years before finally failing and adopting long term foster Rosie (who now helps out with fostering duties!) Wanting to help out more, I began as a cat coordinator in 2023. Seeing cats and kittens grow and flourish in foster care, and then seeing how much mutual love is shared between the cat and adopter, is a joy and the main reasons I volunteer. When not spending time with my feline friends, I work as a chemist, love to read books, explore new places, and play social sports.”
-
Sonali
Cat Coordinator
”When we found a pregnant cat (Gemma) who gave birth to the Gemstone litter, Maggie’s Rescue stepped up and helped us through the entire process, there for every sleepless night through to the successes as each kitten thrived. I wanted to give back and do for others what had been done for me.I enjoy having a cuddle with my cats, reading a book in bed and constantly being busy!”
